Good Samaritan
Time for some cosmic humor. Nine dimensions to three shamrocks, a shamrock bein' a teachin' tool used by St. Patrick in Ireland to explain about the synergy of three in one, the Trinity.
Put the " Declaration of Independence" ; "Constitution" and "The Bill of Rights" together and check out the synergy of those three ideas. Our first shamrock. The reality of those ideas is best expressed, given the number of people involved, in a constitutional democratic republic. Another shamrock. Now the three ideas on the home page and their explanations which followed: (a) "for a healthy America take the crime out of drugs"- legalization: (b) "business needs to pay a livin' wage"- livin' wage and (c) "bring 'em home": legalization, livin' wage, bring 'em home- our third shamrock and our nine dimensions.
We truly would have a healthy America based on the value system of egalitarian meritocracy: a level playin' field and fair play for all. The way to bring about change is by modelin' it, which is easier said than done, or as Will Shakespeare put it: "If to do good were as easy as to know what were good to do." But if we don't know what's good to begin with we're just lost souls wanderin' in the desert.
Such are those who subscribe to the idea "business needs cheap labor"; wage slavery bein' the industrial version of the plantation mentality, ceo's and management bein' our modern royalty. There's the culture of the totemic authoritarianism of cheap labor.
Contrast that with the value system of "business needs to pay a livin' wage", removin' the scam out of the market:
"free market
wish we had
market free of oppression
everyone gettin' their daily bread...."
From a poem entitled "Babel" which I'll insert later.
Live the value system of the good Samaritan/neighbor and we won't want to be goin' around stickin' our noses in other peoples business, When folks do that their faces get covered in you know what so they got to wipe the crap off their faces and take a good look around.
Sounds a little drastic, but when one considers the harm bein' done by those who belong to the know nothin' truculent bloviatin' barbaric school of demagoguery, claimin' God and family values when the only families they care about are their own, and other investors as they relate to their own. And the country with all it's resources is there at their disposal, to make "obscene profits", as Limbaugh (one of the leaders of the know nothin' school) said.
Take advantage of the infrastructure built over the centuries and pay as little as possible in return, then whine with phony patriotism tryin' to scam others into payin' instead with their phony tax cuts. People who reap the benefits should pay their fair share, show some grace, be thankful for what they got, 'stead of shameful bellyachin'.
"Love God and love your neighbor" said Christ in Luke's gospel. Whose my neighbor?" someone in the crowd asked. And the good Samaritan story was born. A story to change the human race
'cos of its message and value system. Still unfoldin'.
Samaritans and Jews were strangers to each other, as Jews and Palestinians are today. In Christs day bein' strangers was akin to bein' enemies as far as most people were concerned. Anyway a Jewish traveler was mugged and left half-dead by the side of the road. A priest and Levite, leaders of the religious and political establishment, passed the injured man by, one of their own , settin' a very poor example indeed. A Samaritan, the stranger and supposed enemy, came by and rescued the sufferin' man.
The true beauty of the story is it opens the door to the sublime for every man and woman. Makin' the unknown known and attainable. Helpin' the sufferin' regardless of background. Today, and all our yesterdays, there are people in an out of power who intentionally cause sufferin' to others and claim they're doin' God's will.
"Enhanced interrogation" is a case in point. Cuttin' funds to those in need is anti-Christ 'cos it's hurtin' the Tiny Tims. Those who claim to be social conservatives and fiscally responsible are neither. One knows a tree by the fruit it bears. Same is true for abortion, an ugly business at best, most "pro-lifers" bein' for cheap labor, bein' anything but pro-life for those folks.
Priests of the R.C.church condemnin' abortion as the worst sin goin'.
Before judgin' and condemnin' others, especially women and their sexuality, should take a good look at themselves. They should be talkin' about what makes abortion pale in comparison and it's child fuckin' rapist priests. They want folks to repent and reform let them set the example 'stead of denial and collusion puttin' the institution of the church 'fore the church itself: which is "suffer the little children to come unto me " and it wasn't to be raped.
Ultimate irony here is those pointin' fingers at women on abortion and gay people for their sexual orientation, accusin' them of idolatry, are males to begin with, for the most part, and definitely have a problem with female spirituality and sexuality.
The idea that women can't be called to the priesthood is infantile. It's easily one of the most destructive ideas to the human race wherever applied, which is most places. It is only when women have full spiritual and sexual equality with men can we begin to build a truly humane society. Open to all regardless of background, and yes , that includes gay people.
A society where there's no one in need. The demon of cheap labor is venomous to that ideal. Therein lies the worst idolatry, creatin' despair among families subjected to the demon: attackin' the family 'stead of protectin' and nourishin' same. Those families who pray their children won't be servants of cheap labor and their stocks to do well in the same breath, are seriously disconnected from reality. It's alright for other families but not for mine.
I heard a young priest ,durin' his homily, say " everybody knows Planned Parenthood is the biggest perpetrator of abortion in the world." This on EWTN, a Roman Catholic station. Durin' budget debate this past week in congress. He was incredulous there were people opposed to the dismemberin' of Planned Parenthood. The villains of the piece.
No, everybody doesn't know about Planned Parenthood and abortion, especially this priest and his buddies there and elsewhere. They're guilty of spiritual sloth for their intellectual laziness in not checkin' their facts. As much denial there as about child fuckin' rapist priests. In their pride and prejudice not gettin' their hands dirty with women's issues not lettin' facts get in their way.
The Hyde Amendment prohibits the use of federal funds for abortions.
Don't worry, those devious folks who provide pap smears and breast cancer screenin's at Planned Parenthood ignore it, if one is to believe senator Jon Kyl from Arizona. He claimed Planned Parenthood was responsible for 90% of abortions, these terrible folks who provide services to women who can't pay.
Turns out folks at the agency are responsible for 3%, one thirtieth of abortions performed, without the use of any federal funds. One of their main jobs is to help women who want to have and keep their babies. Still too many abortions, one bein' too many. Way to get there, no abortions, is to be good Samaritans first and foremost. This means pro birth approach rather than the holier than thou pro life. Pro choice folks could easily go with pro birth.
Two contemplative sisters of R.C. church came up with idea of pro birth. A chance for unity rather than division.
Jon Kyl in reality was accusin' planned Parenthood of bein' good Samaritans, 'cos that's what they are . Abortion is the lesser of two evils. Only the fr. Dolan's of this world, he's the one who excommunicated congressman Patrick Kennedy in Rhode Island 'cos of his "pro-choice" stance, want to go back to the back alley days.
Kyl was called out for his distortion of the facts. , his propaganda in effect since he wanted to score points with his cheap labor base and didn't give a damn about the truth. Nor the sufferin' of the people who would lose their services. Public outcry forced him to respond. His statement wasn't meant to be taken factually. As Stephen Colbert quipped "it was only meant to seem factual."
It's easy to see whose helpin' their neighbors and whose hurtin' them. Kyl and his know nothin' nativist ilk have no idea of the wisdom in " if you can't do someone a good turn don't do them any turn at all." Demagogues like him just don't get it.
Bein' a good Samaritan is doin' Gods will. It's the epiphany Christ made available to every man and woman: to know the will of Allah and the choice to do it or no. No test before aid given. Didn't matter the religious and or political beliefs of the victim; for or 'gainst women priests, gay rights, abortion.
Came across a story by Sarah from Algeria on a Christiane Amanpour blog about torture and human rights while she was still at CNN. Mohammed as a good Samaritan.
Among his neighbors were a Jew and a Christian. The Jewish guy didn't want anything to do with him even though Mohammed went out of his way to be neighborly, as he also did with the Christian. The Christian responded well to the overtures of brotherly love.
Eventually the Jewish neighbor became seriously ill. Mohammed went to his aid and with his compassionate help the man recovered. Yup, it led to a transformation in the Jewish man.
A poem on the subject:

doin' things for the love of Christ
desire of Allah profound

We all have a choice to be good neighbors or nosy ones, good Samaritans or bad ones. To express the phenomenon of nosy neighbor the language of earthy mysticism is required. Nosy neighbors have their heads so far up their asses they can't see for shit so they need to pull their heads out of their asses, wipe shit off their eyes and take a good look around.
If they don' like what they see, people mindin' their own business and keepin' their noses out of other peoples, they, this includes the fr. Dolans, can go and take flyin' fucks in rollin' doughnuts for themselves. The finger pointers have another choice: point those fingers at themselves or shove them up their dumb fuckin' asses and leave the rest of us to get on with the business of life.
Another poem:
freedom
bein' able to laugh
at your own
dumb ass
