Enlightened Capitalism

This is an attempt to shine a light on capital, hence enlightened capitalism. A good start can be made by quotin' Bob Morrison: "socialism, communism, that's old European crapola". As an American writer he was right and described the predatory kind of capitalism this way:"The bastard sons of commerce have raped the earth and shot the mighty eagle from the sky, in an illegitimate relationship with the earth." From his book "Mary", to be published soon.

Since rapin' the earth and shootin' the mighty eagle from the sky is an illegitimate relationship with the earth it begs the question: what is a legitimate relationship with the earth?

The heart of it can be expressed in another shamrock of ideas:

(a) entrepreneurship guided by stewardship

(b) value system of livin' wage 'stead of cheap labor

(c) social contract based on egalitarian meritocracy embodyin' value systems of a and b

Stewardship sees the earth and everything on it, its place in the universe,as a gift from the creator, includin' evolution itself. For one human bein' to claim this is my gold, oil, forest, diamonds is absurd. It took billions of years for all of earths natural resources to evolve. They belong to all the people and should be shared accordin'ly. And there's the rub: sharin'.

"Don't tax you, don't tax me, tax that fella standin' behind the tree", some folk wisdom from Texas, sheddin' light on human selfishness, manifested in the value system of "business needs cheap labor", usually followed by the rationale "cos it has to compete in foreign markets." Both statements are false, devoid of any virtue. This is golden calf idolatrous capitalism puttin' profits before prophets. Speakin' of prophets, an old testament one whose name I can't recall right now, had this to say : "Better a little with righteousness than abundance with wickedness".

No blood on your hands. The blood of innocent people. That's enlightened capitalism. No lyin'. no cheatin', no takin' advantage. capitalisin' on somebody's else's weakness. Scam artist capitalism. Doesn't hear the widow's nor the orphans cry. It ain't what you do , it's what you do to get it. That's where integrity comes in.

No blood on your hands, llfe's about makin' an honest buck: no  exploitation, lyin' nor cheatin; no gettin' over , 'cept gettin' over bein' a scam artist.  Life's choice for all of us : be an artist or a scam artist.

It's not about big nor small business, it's about the business of life.
